Policies

The journal supports the responsible development and dissemination of knowledge that contributes to interprofessional education, professional practice, and capacity-building in health and social care. The following policies outline JRIPE’s commitments to openness, integrity, and transparency in scholarly publishing.

Open Access Policy

JRIPE is an open-access journal. All articles are made freely available online upon publication, without subscription or access fees, and with no embargo period.

Readers are permitted to read, download, and share published articles in accordance with the journal’s licensing terms.

Copyright & Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their work. Articles are published under a Creative Commons license, which permits use, distribution, and reproduction provided the original work is properly cited.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce any copyrighted material included in their manuscript.

Article Processing Charges

JRIPE charges article processing fees (APCs) to support the costs of publication and ensure open access to all content. The APC is typically in the range of approximately $1000 CAD, although fees may vary. The applicable fee will be confirmed upon acceptance of the manuscript.

Authors are encouraged to consult with their institutions or funding agencies regarding support for publication costs. Requests for fee waivers or reductions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Peer Review Policy

All submissions to JRIPE undergo a double-blind peer review process. Manuscripts are evaluated by independent reviewers with relevant expertise.

Final decisions are made by the editorial team based on reviewers’ recommendations and the journal’s standards.

Further details about the review process are available in the For Authors (add link) and For Reviewers (add link) sections.

Ethics & Malpractice Statement

JRIPE values respectful, constructive scholarly exchange and seeks to foster a review and publication process that supports learning and collaboration. JRIPE is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, including those of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to act with integrity, transparency, and respect throughout the publication process.

The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, data fabrication, or other forms of academic misconduct. Allegations of misconduct will be investigated and may result in rejection, correction, or retraction of published work.

The journal follows recognized guidelines for publication ethics and encourages all participants in the review process to adhere to these principles.

Data Sharing Policy

JRIPE encourages authors to make research data available where appropriate, in order to support transparency and the advancement of knowledge.

Authors should indicate whether data supporting their findings are available and, if so, how they can be accessed. When data cannot be shared (e.g., due to ethical or confidentiality considerations), this should be clearly stated.

Accessibility

JRIPE is committed to making its content accessible to a broad audience. The journal strives to ensure that its website and published materials are usable by readers with diverse needs and abilities.

Authors are encouraged to consider accessibility in the preparation of their manuscripts (e.g., clear structure, descriptive captions, and readable formatting).

If you encounter accessibility barriers, please contact the editorial team.
